Grupo CIO signs an agreement with EcoOcéanos to collaborate in the clean up of beaches and seabeds of the island of Tenerife

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, August 2014.- Group CIO (www.cio-company.com), through its area of corporate responsibility, has recently signed an agreement with the environmental NGO EcoOcéanos (www.ecooceanos.org), in order to collaborate with the activities undertaken by the organization.

Monica Rumeu, director of corporate responsibility for the Grupo CIO and Darío Corrales, President of EcoOcéanos, sealed the agreement during a meeting held at the headquarters of the company, where both parties took the opportunity to share their views on the joint actions to be performed as well as future projects.

Under this agreement, Grupo CIO will collaborate for a year in the clean-up of beaches and seabed’s, organized by the NGO on the island of Tenerife, in which Fuentealta (www.fuentealta.es) is also participating with the donation of water for the volunteers.

In addition, this agreement also includes cooperation from Grupo CIO in the form of informative speeches, which EcoOcéanos is planning to give in schools next year and where they will touch on subjects such as awareness, respect and environmental sensitivity.

In the words of Monica Rumeu, "For the area of corporate responsibility of the Grupo CIO, to be linked with organizations which help promote and care for the environment is a priority. We believe that EcoOcéanos carries out an important awareness campaign in schools, and through its clean-ups and conservation of the coast. For our company, it is an honour to be part of their great project”.

EcoOcéanos is an environmental non-profit organization, established in 2011 and located in Tenerife, whose activity gives special emphasis to the marine world, playing particular attention to the following fields: awareness, project management and cyberactions.
